How do I make a booking?
You can email us with your enquiry, fill out our online enquiry form or call us.
Do I need to make a deposit payment?
Yes, we charge a deposit of 25 % of the total payment of the tour.
When do I pay my final payment for my tour?
Your final payment is due 8 weeks prior to the start of your tour.
How do I make a payment?
We accept payment by bank transfer, cheque or credit/debit card.
Do you charge for paying by bank transfer or credit or debit card?
We do not personally make any extra charges but check with your bank as they may charge. A transaction using your credit or debit card can only be made through the secure payment system of Paypal. Paypal charge 3.5% of the total payment and therefore we need to add this to your total payment due. For customers outside of the UK, there will be a charge of 4.9% of the total payment added to your overall cost.
Is my money safeguarded once it is paid into your account?
Yes, your money is totally secure. It is paid into a Trust Account operated under EC guidelines and is not accessible to Take Us Touring until after the tour has taken place.
What happens if I need to cancel my tour?
If you cancel your tour due to illness you should be covered under your insurance policy but you need to check your policy to see how much you are entitled to.
If you need to cancel for any other reason we will always offer an alternative date where possible. If you need to cancel and cannot rebook, please see our terms and conditions to check how much refund you are entitled to.
What happens if you cancel our tour?
Hopefully, this will never happen but should we need to cancel a tour for any reason you will be offered a full refund.
Do I need a passport?
Yes, your passport must be valid at least 6 months prior to your return journey. UK School groups and youth organisations may apply for a collective passport. There can be between five and fifty children and young people (under 18 years) on a collective passport. Please allow six weeks for a collective passport application to be processed.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes, everyone on tour must have his or her own travel insurance. Those travelling within the EU should also carry their EHIC card.
Are the coaches non-smoking?
Yes, all our coaches are non-smoking but comfort stops can be arranged.
Will a guide accompany us during the entire duration of our tour?
Yes, the guide will be with the group for the duration of the tour, unless it is agreed beforehand that the guide will meet the group at a specific destination.
Will we have a separate driver to the guide?
Yes, there will be a separate driver and guide. For tours of 8 people or less, you will be forwarded to our sister company In The Footsteps and from there it will be up to the group and discussed during the booking process.
Will we receive an itinerary?
Yes, all tours no matter what size group will receive a full itinerary before their tour and in most circumstances before paying their deposit.
What standard of hotels do you use?
We generally use 3 star hotels and group hostel accommodation, but it varies depending on the customer’s wishes. We discuss all hotel accommodation with the customer before their tour is booked. Most school groups request school accommodations where applicable. In some circumstances, it can be arranged for military organisations to use the barracks in certain areas. Camping is another great option for groups on a budget.
What if I have a special dietary requirement?
No problem, we will discuss this with you and inform the hotel. Please note there may be a limit on choice for any special dietary requirements.
What if I want a tour for fewer than 9 people?
Great, we can forward you to our sister site In The Footsteps who specialise in tours of this kind. They can offer you a personalised tour to suit all your needs, and a unique ‘follow in the footsteps’ package where you can trace the steps of an ancestor who fought in the war.
